Care Bags

ALTRUSA CARE BAGS
Annually, 200 women and 30 children are provided with basic hygiene products through Altrusa’s CARE BAGS program. Three times a year, these toiletry bags are distributed to Samaritan House, a homeless shelter, Haven House, a transition house for victims of domestic violence, and the Nanaimo Women’s Resource Centre. Many hands are involved, from sewing bags to soliciting donations to sourcing out products and to keeping a running inventory of supplies. Here we have Cheryl C., Cheryl B. and Pat N. taking part in the final step: filling the bags for today’s deliveries. We all love working together and being a part of this fabulous project!
