Initiation of new member at Christmas Party

Make A Difference Day Project - Fisher House

Altrusa International of Clark County Annual Club Picnic

Pull pork and chicken with corn on the cob were featured, along with icy G & T's, local wines and seafood appetizers. Marie McEnry and her husband hosted the lovely August evening event. A silent auction to benefit the club included signed books and delicious peach jam and other items from members gardens.

Visit to Discovery Nursing and Rehab

On August 11th club members Sue Barrows and Kelly Ackley visited Discovery Nursing and Rehab in Vancouver to read to residents in the memory care unit. Stories include: The Very Hungry Caterpillar Pop-up book by Eric Carle and Bears Wants More by Karma Wilson.


"Altrusa grant helps get books to families"

Hazel Dell - Altrusa of Clark County, a chapter of an International service club, gave $1000.00 dollars to Hazel Dell Elementary School to help support its annual literacy promotion, the Hazel Dell Exchange Extravaganza. Club members, including President Tina Smith, gave books to families at the school event. The grant came from the Altrusa Family Literacy Initiative.

" Grant gets families involved in reading"

Lincoln (neighborhood) To help encourage parents to become more involved in reading with their kids, Altrusa International of Clark County gave a $1,150.00 dollar grant to the Lincoln Elementary Family-Community Resource Center. The money helped pay for the Lincoln Loves Reading: Family Literacy Night on November 6th, where the school opened at night for 150 families who dressed in pajamas and had milk and cookies while taking part in reading activities. Each student left with a book, according to a press release.

Altrusa International of Clark County Foundation


   On February 20, 2015 Altrusa International of Clark County made our final payment of our $10,000.00 pledge for the Vancouver Library, opened in July 2012. Our donation made possible the fireplace on the 5th floor of the Vancouver Library. 
   Vancouver Library

2015 - Altrusa International of Clark County completed their $10,000.00 pledge which made possible a gas fireplace and mantel in the 5th floor of the reading room.
   Cascade Park Library

2011 - Altrusa International of Clark County completed their $10,000.00 pledge which made it possible an electronic reader board for current library events in the library lobby.
  Battle Ground Library

2008 - Altrusa International of Clark County completed their $10,000.00 pledge which made possible a meeting room named for the Club.
   Three Creeks Library

2005 - Altrusa International of Clark County completed their pledge to the Childrens Area for books and equipment.

Friends of Altrusa International of Clark County Foundation

A Friend of Altrusa supports our Foundation but isn’t at this time ready to be a member of our club. For an annual donation to the Foundation, a Friend gets a window decal, a certificate and a quarterly email newsletter. Friends are welcome at all our fundraising and service events. Individuals can be a Friend or they can be a Friend in memory of or in honor of someone else or of something special. Altrusans truly appreciate our Friends.
