Scholarship Winners

Altrusa International of Roseburg presented four college scholarships this year out of 15 applicants: 
  • Emily Do from Roseburg High School received a 2017 ASTRA Scholarship for $500. She will attend the Oregon State University honors college to become a physician's assistant.
  • Grace Tester form Glide High School was presented with a 2017 Altrusa Scholarship for $1,000. She plans to attend University of Portland to become a pediatric dentist.
  • Natalie Lehrbasch from Roseburg High School received a $500 scholarship. She will attend the University of Oregon honors college with an undecided career.
  • Camerin Feagins from Sutherlin High School received a $500 scholarship. She plans to attend Northwest Christian University to pursue a career in education to become a teacher.

The Altrusa Club of Roseburg provides several grant and scholarship awards annually. This page includes descriptions of each award and contact person. Live links to the applications are available when they are being accepted. 

Project ASK (Altrusa Serving Kids)

Altrusa Serving Kids (Project ASK) provides small grants to elementary and middle school classes in Douglas County for the kinds of things no longer funded through school budgets i.e. field trips, special supplies assembly presentations, videos software, prizes for contests like science fairs: whatever teachers and kids feel would enhance the curriculum and make education more meaningful and more fun. Outstanding High School Senior Scholarship

The Altrusa Scholarship is designed to honor one outstanding senior from Douglas, Roseburg, Glide, Sutherlin or Oakland High Schools providing minimum requirements are met.  This student will be honored at an Altrusa meeting in the spring and will receive a $2,500.00.  Scholarships due March 13, 2017. Contact your school’s counseling office for additional information.

Outstanding High School Senior Applications

Career & Technical Training Scholarship

One $1,500 award is offered to a student completing his/her career & technical training program.  The awards may cover tuition, books, or other school related expenses.  Applicants must be Douglas County residents who have already completed a portion of their training and are within one year of completing their program of study.  Economic needs, GPA, and school/community involvement are considered.
