The club continues on its mission to care for its community, its children and its needs. There have been little change in our overall membership numbers and twenty members have already signed up for the personal Centennial Service Project. The annual retreat took place in September 2016 at the Taku Resort on Quadra Island where we entertained District Twelve's Second Vice Governor Sarah Johnson and her mother.
We continue to support over 20 local communities, including the Women's Center, the Salvation Army, Adult Care Society's Day Care center and Music program, our local Hospice, Victims services with Trauma Bears, Search & Rescue, Meals on Wheels, the local Head Injury Society and our Parks & Recreation Summer Programs for underprivileged children.
Our "Make a Difference Day project last year involved the donation of 260 books to the Annual School Drive.
Hosting a tea for 200 "Golden Girls" of the community was another successful event.
These have been an ongoing focus for the club with Bursaries awarded at both High School and College levels. In addition we have literacy projects, Family Literacy Day; Four members are involved in Family tutoring.
